SEO Tactic 1 : Google Analytics

Log into Google Analytics
Acquisition
Search Console
Landing Pages

Look at all pages.

Compare impressions and clicks and CTR – click through rate.

Click the url and look at all the search queries the page rank for.

Export the report and import into Excel or Google Sheet.

Look to see if any search queries stand out.

SEO Tactic 2 : Manual page review

Manually review your page.
Read the title

SEO Tactic 3 : Review pages in Screaming Frog

Pop your url into Screaming Frog
Review the page title and description, word count

Was the title written to motivate, persuade and influence a person reading your page in google search results?

Go through the keywords again and look for ‘how to” in the search query.

“How to” suggests the page will be a guide or resource.

SEO Tactic 4 : Search volume with keyword research tool
Enter the seed keyword into ahrefs to find out the monthly search volume.

1000 searches a month is small volume.

28,000 searches a month is a good sized keyword for a consumer business.

Look at number of ‘having same as” keywords; if there’s less than 100 same as keywords, then the topic you are targeting is probably too low.

Look at the keyword difficulty; a score of greater than 20 for a new website is too difficult a topic to target.

Look at the domain ratings of the top 10 search results.

Look at the number of domains pointing to each url as this gives you an indication of how difficult it is to rank.

SEO Tactic 5 : compare serps metrics

Compare your page with the top 10 ranked pages.

Enter url into ahrefs
Select organic keywords
search for your keyword
Look at your keyword
click on SERPs to compare your page with the top 10 ranked pages.

Compare domains linking to pages
Compare number of keywords each page ranks for

SEO Tactic 6 : compare page word count

Compare your page word count with the word count of the top 10 pages

Copy and paste all the urls and yours into http://www.seoreviewtools.com/bulk-web-page-word-count-checker/

Word count is an indicator of page quality

SEO Tactic 7 : LSI keywords

Find out if your page has the right words and count on it by using textoptimizer.com

Go to your url
open up to textoptimizer.com plugin
enter your seed keyword
then find out the phrases to add to your page or remove from your page.
80% and above and your page content is now more relevant.
