No Support Linux Hosting Review

I maintain a lot of wordpress websites, and build quite a few, quite regularly as well. During the process I have often required a development domain, or hosting to test websites as I build them. I also quite frequently come up with random ideas that I’d like to test that require web hosting.  Similar to findings in my review of 000webhost , I tested NoSupportLinuxHosting.com for a couple of years and utilized their hosting services to test many website ideas and host projects temporarily.

No Support Linux Hosting offers website hosting for only $1 per month, per domain (website).

Services they offer that I was impressed with:

CPANEL access
Software installations (wordpress, drupal, etc…)
Their user console (panel) is quite easy to use and allows you to set up a website in a matter of minutes using wordpress.

Some things that I noticed about the service that caused some pain points:

Because it is shared hosting the resources on their server(s) quite often get bogged down. If you are configuring wordpress plugins and they make changes to your wordpress database I found the virtual memory on the servers peaked and often locked me out of my sites for long periods of time.

The downtime was actually reasonable. I can recall only 2 or 3 instances where their servers were offline and my websites were not accessible.

One thing that I admired about their services was that they are straight up and have incorporated some humour into their branding.

Take this message on their website for example:

I emailed them a couple of times, and they did respond within 24 hours, but they are true to their brand and don’t offer any support. Granted I only had some technical questions.

My recommendation is that if you are someone who needs to be able to e-mail Customer Service or Customer Support often you shouldn’t go with them as your web host, I also don’t recommend them if you are building a website that you expect will have quite a bit of traffic or is running woocommerce (or something similar) and requires resources.

However, if you are searching for affordable web hosting, can manage the set up process yourself and don’t require a lot of server resources or bandwidth, NoSupportLinuxHosting.com is a great option for only $12 per year, per domain (website).
