I signed into Linkedin this afternoon, as I normally do, and there was a message waiting for me in my inbox from my future self.
Nicely done Lexus. This is probably some of the best digital marketing I have seen on social media, let alone on LinkedIN. Lexus used LinkedIN’s ability to target by profession to single out those who work in marketing and faked a futuristic message from myself, to me…. About marketing in the future. And then ofcourse they managed to throw in a nice call to action very relevant to the message about test driving a new Lexus before cars start driving themselves.
The power of the data behind social profiles is changing advertising. You can now segment content by an abundant amount of data. Whether it be geographic location, age, profession, hobbies, skills, – everything is target-able.
