Installing, Configuring, Customizing, and Building A Gutenberg-Powered WordPress Theme – Part 1

by | Apr 4, 2020 | Free Wordpress Plugins | 0 comments

Watch, (and listen) to Tim of COVERT NINE as he installs and configures a custom Gutenberg-powered website based on the C9 Starter theme for a fake band called C9 Music.

Once done with this two-part video, you’ll have a Gutenberg-powered WordPress site built from the C9 Blocks plugin, and an animated scrolling single page navigation with the help of GreenSock and ScrollMagic Javascript libraries.

In part one of this video, we’ll install the theme, the necessary plugins, import sample content, and walk you through how to customize your own theme using a client folder inside of the C9 Starter theme to sell, distribute, or upload to WordPress.org!

In this video we:

1. Set up and configure a site using Gutenberg + the C9 Blocks plugin
2. Use custom CSS/HTML/Javscript to customize the functionality of a Gutenberg powered theme with the help of a client folder inside of the parent theme
3. Configure theme settings for the C9 Music Theme
4. Import content into the C9 Music Theme
5. Begin to work with block templates from the C9 Blocks plugin
6. Bask in the flickering screen of glory as you make your own website that has scrolling animations that even a child could configure
