Do It Yourself – Website Tutorials
A video about how to manually setup up and upload wordpress to a server of your choice. I am also briefly explaining what wordpress is and what purpose it does have.
I am using namecheap as a hoster in this tutorial, but the process should stay mainly the same even for different ones.If you have any further questions or request feel free to ask.
Your hoster might already also provide an easier way to setup a wordpress site on your server space, but if you want to understand the whole process a bit better feel free to watch along.
For the domain to which to connect to via ftp and if you did not set up a primary domain for your server yet there usually is a temporary domain provided on some dashboard of your hosting provider, for which you can replace the domain part after “ftp.” before connecting.
If you have a VPS (Virtual private server) or your server space is without cpanel or configuration then you may have to install a http server software like “Apache HTTP Server” and .php support on the server before uploading wordpress to your space (after setting up an ftp server).
Let me know if you want me to cover any part of the tutorial in more detail in the future.
