YouTube has a billion users, meaning one in three people on the internet visit the video sharing site. That’s a huge potential audience. But, competition for that audience’s attention is fierce. It’s estimated that each minute 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube. Running video ads will help ensure that your content break through the noise and reaches your target audience. Before you can run your video ads you need to link your YouTube account to your Adwords account. Linking your YouTube and Adwords account also give you access to a host of additional statistics, including remarketing and engagement stats, to help you better plan your video marketing. Here’s how to link your YouTube Channel and Adwords account: Step 1: Sign-in to your YouTube account.
Step 2: Click on the channel icon which is at the top right of the screen. You can select whichever channel you want to link from those available.
Step 3: Select My Channel from the left hand side of the screen.
Step 4: Click on Video Manager at the top of the screen below the search bar.
Step 5: From the menu on the right hand side of the screen click on Channel and then Advanced.
Step 6: Under Adwords Account Linking click on the button labelled Link an Adwords Account.
Step 7: You will be provided with a set of instructions for you to follow. This will include logging into your Adwords account and copying your Customer Account number from the top right of the screen. You will then be able to paste this into the provided box.
Step 8: Click finish. You will then be sent a request to approve the linking of the two accounts.
